If anyone remembers the 1978 movie “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” with Richard Dreyfus, then you’ll recognize this amazing and beautiful landmark.
This landmark is sacred to the local native Americans and when we arrived there they were having a ceremony in which no cameras were allowed when we pulled into the parking area. We did spend quite a few hours there, and the landscape is just gorgeous! Here is one of the night images as I got lucky as the night was crystal clear.
